Microwave assisted, gas fired kiln. Danish Technological Institute, Aarhus (DK)

In close cooperation with C-Tech Innovation (UK) and DTI (Danish Technical Institute, DK), Instalat has developed a microwave assisted, gas fired test kiln (MAGF kiln). The research project is funded by DTI and the EUDP (Danish Energy Agency) and aims to show the energy savings and quality advantages possible when using a combination of microwaves and gas firing for the production of bricks in Danish brickworks. The other Project consortium partners are: Aarhus University DK), University of Nottingham (UK) and the well known brick manufacturers: Strøjer Tegl (DK), Pipers Teglværker (DK), Hellisgø Teglværk (DK)

Successful acceptance of new Tunnel kiln at Brickfactory Vande Moortel (B)

After the successful performance test in Oktober 2015 the final acceptance was signed by Vande Moortel and Instalat.

Instalat supplied a tunnel kiln for the production of paving bricks.

The tunnel kiln, equipped with a very sophisticated firing technology and the latest Instalat WinCC controls,  allows Vande Moortel to adjust the firing curve at any time to the requested product specifications.

The main reference product can therefore be produced with a water absorption of less than 2%.

All contractual parameters as energy consumption, product quality and quantities were largely fulfilled.

Brick factory Vande Moortel in Oudenaarde is one of the largest family owned brick factories in Belgium and famous in home markets and abroad for their wide variety of brick shapes and colours.
